David G. Kock
Is a renowned litigator with more than 30 years of legal experience. He is based in the Dutch Caribbean (Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire & St Maarten) and also assists clients in Colombia. He repeatedly appears as counsel at the Supreme Court in the Hague in Criminal cases. Due to the complex matters and high stakes involved in many of the legal proceedings in which he is the acting attorney, these frequently reported in the media. Being multilingual (English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamento) makes it easy to communicate in his transnational practice with his clients. Besides litigation he also advises clients in business transactions, intellectual property, employment and estate matters
Demis G. Illes
After completing secondary education in Aruba, Demis pursued studies in the Netherlands, initially aspiring to be a police inspector. His interest in law led to an LLM from Tilburg University in 2006, specializing in Criminal Law. Drawn back by strong ties to Aruba, he served as a policy advisor for the government before transitioning to law in 2008. Renowned for excellence in criminal law, Demis handles high-profile cases while practicing in criminal, labor, administrative, and immigration law. A seasoned litigator, he balances his professional life with a passion for sports, travel, and music concerts.
Evelyn J. Cafarzuza
Evelyn graduated from the University of Aruba in 2007. Evelyn worked hereafter for a year as a paralegal.
In 2008 she went to the Netherlands, specifically to Erasmus University to obtain her Master degree in Dutch Law. She paired it with European International Law. Hereafter she decided to do another Master degree in Commercial Law. After obtaining this in 2010, she returned to Aruba and started working as an attorney. Evelyn is an experienced litigator with an affinity for family and civil cases.
Vito A.V. Carlo
Vito Carlo graduated from the University of Aruba (LL.M., 2007). Before going into private practice in 2007, he worked as a physical education teacher (B Ed., 2001) for four (4) years. Admitted to the Bar of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba in 2007. An all-round attorney and experienced litigator, with an affinity for criminal law and dispute resolution; a pragmatist and good negotiator who is not afraid to compromise for the good of all parties. Petra M.K. Smit
Petra is born and raised on Aruba. She graduated from the University of Aruba with her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 2019 and started working for DavidKock DiazReus in that same year. Like all the attorneys at DavidKock DiazReus, Petra is experienced in most areas of the law, but she specializes in labor law and is particularly passionate about a fair criminal justice system. Unlike most attorneys, Petra has also always had an eye for numbers, which gives her an edge when it comes to calculating claims.

Juan Esteban Vásquez M.
Juan Esteban, a lawyer from Universidad de los Andes (Bogota, Colombia), holds a postgraduate diploma in Business Administration. With 30+ years of experience, he blends private legal practice with managerial roles in diverse sectors. Holding dual citizenship from Colombia and Spain, Juan excels in negotiation, conciliation, civil litigation, and government liaison. He has served as the regional director of the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority (Aerocivil) and headed the Colombian Caribbean office of Procolombia, promoting international trade, tourism, and foreign investment.
